This is a remarkable wine with a density of fruit that reminds me of a Montrachet from a great vintage. it’s full bodied, dense and rich -- almost oily -- but then it turns bright and fresh with a powerful backbone of acidity. A marvel.

La composition du 2010 est identique à celle du 2009 : 85 % de Sauvignon et 15 % de Sémillon. Ce n’est donc pas sur ce terrain que s’opère la différence. Elle se fait sur la structure et la précision des saveurs : le benjamin se montre plus incisif que son glorieux aîné, moins grand public aussi. A réserver aux initiés.

85 Sauvignon blanc, 15 Sémillon. Nez superbe, nez de miel. La bouche est souple et ronde avec une jolie matière, l’ensemble est charmant avec sa belle finale de miel, mais il masque pour le moment son vrai tempérament qui n’apparaît qu’au travers de sa grande concentration. Sous ses dehors très affables, il est parti pour une grande garde.

Ma meilleure note donnée à ce cru en primeur.
Couleur jaune vert. Nez intense, fruité, mûr, sentant des nuances de pêche, de vanille et de noix de coco. Ample à l'entrée de bouche, très aromatique, gras, vivant et complexe, avec une très belle présence au milieu, le vin se développe puissant, savoureux et noble en finale. Il se révèle totalement incrachable. Une sorte d'association idéale entre la dynamique, l'éclat, la maturité et le charme. Bravo.

Toujours une tête au dessus des autres, le Domaine de Chevalier blanc confirme qu’il est cette année encore incontestablement le meilleur bordeaux blanc. Robe jaune pâle reflets verts. Nez frais d’agrumes, citron vert. Attaque charnue, polie, très fraîche, arômes francs, ciselés. Long, aérien.

Tense and long lived with great electricity. Still very astringent and taut with some exotic aromas on the nose and then a certain green grassiness on the palate. Still extremely youthful. May well last longer than I suggest. Tasted both open and blind.

MS: Pale color; fresh, zesty, Sauvignon nose; both rich and vigorous in constitution, dry, generous wine, very ripely flavored, but this ripeness is supported by a fine, firm acidity, a broad, quite fat style for the property’s white wine. Juicy, spicy, complex, discreetly oaky, full of both ripe fruit and very mineral aromas; Burgundian in its breadth, rich and linear at the same time. Pure, taut, aromatic, and with great length. Grand-scale Domaine de Chevalier white. 2018-35+.

One of the truly great names of dry White Bordeaux. Chevalier Blanc has a loyal following and is a wine with an amazing ability to age despite being attractive in its youth. 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon aged in one third new oak. A huge nose jumps out of the glass - white peach, melon and grapefruit. The palate has impressive depth, a round - almost oily - texture but good balancing acidity. Some tropical hints to start off then pears and melons. Citric freshness on the long finish. |

2010 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 93-95
The Domaine de Chevalier Blanc has a very taut, focused nose that has more vivacity then any barrel sample I can recall since the 2007. There are scents of fresh apricot, cucumber, water cress and a touch of lemon zest. It seems to shimmer in the mouth with racy acidity with hints of fresh apricots, a judicious touch of creamy oak and a citric thread defining the finish. Very composed and focused, this will be a little beauty once in bottle.
2010 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc An explosion of lemon, guava, grapefruit, lime and fresh picked flowers poured over wet rocks make up the perfume. Thick, rich and incredibly concentrated, this dense, intense, Bordeaux Blanc has the perfect amount of acidity to feel bright and fresh. This was the only wine from the Pessac Leognan tasting that was too good to spit. 97-98Pts

The Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is a brilliant white wine that is neither too heavy nor too light. Its gooseberries, star fruit, and lemongrass notes lead into a palate of fresh acidity and wonderful intensity of fruit. This is very long in the finish and like all good vintages of Domaine de Chevalier Blanc, this one will keep for decades in the cellar. (92-93)
